The TRET Advantage
Established in 2021, Tret Therapeutics was born out of cutting-edge research conducted at the Advanced Drug Delivery Research Lab at Northeastern University, where we developed an approach for exploiting the benefits of lipids as formulation excipients in enhancing bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs.
Tret's proprietary technology is based on a mechanistic understanding of lipid-drug interactions in the gut. We are consistently able to predict oral pharmacokinetics as a function of lipid type, quantity, and composition. Unlike traditional trial-and-error formulation approaches, our technology engineers a lipid formulation based on a desired pharmacokinetic output. This unique capability makes our platform more efficient, versatile, and effective than existing methods, providing formulation solutions that are otherwise unattainable.
We partner with pharmaceutical companies, predict and design formulations for their clinical candidates based on desired pharmacokinetic objectives. Our most recent work on the reformulation of two drugs has lead to a 2.4x and 5x reduction in dose (and increase in bioavailability), with 100% success rate.
